Certified Clinical Nurse Leader and Certified Professional in Patient Safety, with specialization in high-consequence medical events.

I am a Certified Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) with specialization in high-consequence medical events, including catastrophic injury, unexpected death, and other serious hospital-based harms.
After launching my career as a nurse in Emergency Medicine, I worked over a decade inside one of the largest tertiary teaching hospitals and Level I trauma centers in our region—first at the bedside, then in clinical and operational leadership, and finally within the Office of Patient Safety. In that role, I was responsible for managing sentinel and serious safety events end-to-end, as one of two safety officers for the entity. Through my time, I became accustomed to managing a caseload of high-complexity and high-severity cases under legal, executive and regulatory scrutiny. There are few angles of hospital mechanics I have not witnessed firsthand.
What differentiates my work from traditional legal nurse consulting is the pairing of clinical and operational expertise with advanced training in systems science and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). This methodology is validated, consistent, and setting-agnostic, allowing me to analyze cases across patient populations, acuity levels, specialties, and care environments without reliance on narrow bedside tenure.
Trained on protected peer feedback, autopsy findings, and mortality review—with a focus on sufficiency, context, and causal connection.
Advanced training in systems science and Root Cause Analysis enables rapid isolation of key failure points and efficient, relevant analysis across care settings.
My focus is not simply whether care met written standards, but whether it was sufficient, in context, credible, and causally connected—an area where many LNCs stop short.
