From Chaos to Clarity

Based out of The Triangle area, North Carolina, CA Strazis Clinical Legal Consulting, PLLC applies formal training in causal analysis for deliverables grounded in systems science, clinical rigor, and the facts of your case.

Our Approach

We work from a single guiding question: Did something done, or not done, lead to harm? Timeline reconstruction, causal analysis, and expert coordination all serve that question.

“Disorder is a failure of perception, not an absence of structure”

Caroline A. Strazis, RN, MSN, CNL, CPPS

I am a Certified Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) with specialization in high-consequence medical events, including catastrophic injury, unexpected death, and other serious hospital-based harms.

What differentiates my work from traditional legal nurse consulting is the pairing of clinical and operational expertise with advanced training in systems science and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). I leverage a unique skillset to help answer one key question clearly and without bias:

Did something done, or not done, lead to harm?

Services

Initial Consultation · Complaint · Merit · Strategy

We establish time-ordered reconstruction of events, identify causal mechanisms and system failures, and prepare cases for expert review, deposition, or trial.

The Work I Do

  • Establish time-ordered reconstruction of events, iteratively refining scope as findings emerge
  • Identify causal mechanisms, system failures, and decision-making breakdowns relevant to outcome
  • Distinguish poor outcome from preventable harm, where appropriate
  • Identify and connect with the right experts for exceptional nuance to save attorneys time and money
  • Determine whether specialty expert testimony is required, and in what domain

How I Fit Into a Case

  • Engage before and alongside theory formation, including early appraisal of case merit
  • Dissect the medical record and evidence with scope and rigor often unavailable through specialty review alone
  • Conduct analysis across care transitions, specialties and contexts, preventing fragmented views
